I have been working in the comic book industry for over half a century, creating such characters as Black Lightning, Misty Knight and Tigra. I began gender-affirming therapy in December 2023. Since then, my wife retired and our current insurance will not cover the cost of the therapist who has been treating me for two years. My therapist has helped me more than I can convey. I want to keep seeing her. But I would have to pay out of pocket, which I can't afford.
