Help Jen & Pat start again due to Helene flooding

Hi, I'm Jenny. It's with broken and heavy hearts that we find ourselves here on GoFundMe asking for help. We live in Asheville, NC.

We are now destitute and not knowing what to do. I have been here in Asheville for over 8 years. Hurricane/tropical storm Helene has torn down our lives, just like it has buildings in our city of Asheville.

Pat is a photographer in the arts community here. His business has been absolutely destroyed and taken away.

My retail job is indefinitely closed, until who knows when. There is absolutely no reopening timeline on the horizon.

FEMA claims and insurance claims have been filed but, they still haven't done anything for us yet. We are so lost right now. We need to raise a little more than $3000 still so we can relocate and start over.

We are in such need. We have found a place to relocate to however, we don't have the funds to get there or put down for anything beyond 1 month. We are out of options. We have nowhere else to turn, we don't want to succumb to the aftermath of Helene and be on the streets!

Everything has been lost. We are safe and alive and absolutely grateful but, we are left with minimal. Pat is left with onesmall suitcase of clothes he fled with, that's it. We have our fur babies that are coming with us in our journey towards a new home and a new begining.

Any donations are going to rebuilding our lives, enabling us to relocate, to pay for the essentials like food and water, medications, phone bills and rent on a new place. Its traumatic to have to restart life at this point. We are lost, truly.
