Last weekend, Jenn and I were skiing in Mammoth, soaking in some of the most beautiful spring conditions you could ask for. But in one unexpected moment, everything changed. While making a turn, Jenn’s knee twisted badly—her skis and body went one way, and her knee the other. It ended with a painful ride down the mountain, thanks to a ski patrol team member named Alex and a rescue sled.

We cut the trip short so Jenn could get to an orthopedist. Her knee was swollen, she couldn’t put weight on it, and the pain was intense. The MRI revealed a full ACL tear—completely off the bone. The only option is reconstructive surgery, followed by a long, challenging recovery that will keep her off her feet and unable to work for at least six months.

As a single mom, Jenn is the rock for her two children. She works as a teacher’s aide through the school year and supplements her income in the summer with her incredible work as an underwater portrait photographer. With this injury, she’s facing the painful reality of lost income just as rent, groceries, and medical bills continue to pile up.

Jenn would never ask for help on her own—but this is one of those moments when community matters most. Your donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward rent, groceries, and medical deductibles to get her through these next six months.
