Support Jenn's Fight Against Rare Cancer
Donation protected

Since Jan 1, when our miraculous Greyson was born, my sister Jenn has been through hell. What started as a 9cm fibroid on her uterus, which was only discovered in an ultrasound for Greyson at the 20-week anatomy scan, turned into High-Grade Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma, a cancer so rare that only 1% of women get it.
After 2 one-week stays in the hospital for excessive bleeding that resulted in Jenn needing 8 units of blood, she had a myomectomy in March to remove the fibroid. After further scans and testing after the myomectomy, the cancer was identified in the removed fibroid, and Jenn was referred to Dana Farber. Dana Farber did their own tests and review of all of Jenn’s scans which ultimately required a hysterectomy to remove the remaining cancer in her uterus and right fallopian tube on July 1, which also happened to be when Greyson turned 6 months old.
Since her hysterectomy, Jenn has made the decision to undergo chemotherapy because of the 50% chance of this cancer re-occurring without chemo. If you know Jenn, you know her hair matters to her tremendously and over the next few weeks, it will all fall out, along with intense exhaustion, loss of taste, nausea, and rapid weight-loss as she endures this 6-round battle with chemo.
The hope is that chemo will allow Jenn to live a long, full life with her beautiful son and wonderful husband Chris.
Since Jenn’s maternity leave ended in June, she has had to quit her job in order to focus on her health and she doesn’t qualify for further short-term disability because all of her weeks were used on her maternity leave this year. Her husband is continuing to work to support the family but will be taking a significant amount of time off through the remainder of the year to be with Jenn through this journey.
We are creating this GoFundMe to help my sister and her family through the next few months. The hope is that with monetary support, Jenn and Chris can focus 100% of their energy on Jenn’s treatment and health journey, rather than bills for their home and their son.
If you are able to help, we appreciate it immensely. If you are or are not able to support monetarily, any prayers for Jenn, Chris, and Greyson are greatly welcomed.
