Support Jennifer's Therapy Office Recovery

On Friday, January 17th, a fire devastated the office building where the therapy practice of my colleague and friend, Jennifer Jenkins-Boitnott, is located. Thankfully, and most importantly, no one was injured and the individuals present in the building escaped safely. However, the building itself has suffered extensive damage, Jennifer’s office itself is completely destroyed, and she is left with no remaining salvageable property.

We are asking for donations to help Jennifer replace the lost office and therapy supplies, furniture, and other vital essentials, as well as funds to help her transition into a new office location. As an individual small business owner, Jennifer needs to recover and reopen as quickly as possible in order to continue to serve the community of clients who depend on her support.

Jennifer has been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor and therapist for ten years in the greater Richmond community. She started her own solo private practice, Sea Glass, in 2019 and has dedicated her practice to providing EMDR therapy to adults who have survived trauma. Since 2021 Jennifer has expanded Sea Glass into a small group practice specializing in offering EMDR intensives and EMDR therapy. The physical loss of Jennifer's office has resulted in the physical and emotional loss of a safe place for the many she and her team serve.

Jennifer moved to the Richmond area after getting married and has grown her family and career here. She currently lives in Richmond’s Southside with her husband, young daughter, and their rescue dog and cat.
