Cancer has a way of changing plans, timelines, and daily life in an instant. As our family enters another difficult chapter in my mom’s journey, we’re leaning on faith, hope, and the support of those around us.

I wanted to share an update on my mom, Jennifer.

Recent scans and rising tumor markers have shown that the cancer is growing again, and her doctor has recommended a change in treatment. She will be starting a chemotherapy called Enhertu, given by infusion every three weeks, with a planned start date of January 6th.

Before beginning, Mom will need additional testing, including a biopsy and baseline heart imaging, with continued monitoring throughout treatment due to possible effects on her heart and lungs. She will remain on her current therapy for the next month or so while these steps are completed. Side effects may include nausea and possibly hair loss — something that’s difficult to think about, especially with my wedding coming up next year, but we’re taking things one step at a time.

Before this next phase began, my parents were blessed with a brief, all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii — a generous gift that provided much-needed rest and time together. It came during a season when they were also navigating unexpected household expenses at home, including covering their mortgage after renters moved out unexpectedly.

As treatment intensifies, there is also the possibility that my dad may need to retire earlier than planned in order to care for my mom and be present for her medical needs. This potential loss of income, combined with increasing medical, travel, testing, and treatment-related expenses, adds another layer of financial strain to an already challenging time.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help support my parents as they face these growing costs, along with time away from work and the many unseen expenses that come with long-term cancer care.

More than anything, our family is grateful for the prayers, encouragement, and love that continue to surround my mom. We remain hopeful, grounded in faith, and thankful for every step forward.

Thank you for walking alongside us and for keeping my mom in your prayers. If you feel led to support or share this fundraiser, we are sincerely grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support during this season.
