My name is Jennifer K. Camp, and on September 10, I am scheduled to undergo brain surgery to remove a meningioma—a mass roughly the size of a softball.

I have faced serious medical challenges before. I was diagnosed with leukemia at just three years old. After six phases of chemotherapy and radiation, I was two weeks away from completing treatment. That’s when I relapsed and we started over with treatment and preparations for a bone marrow transplant. My twin brother, Jason, donated the bone marrow that helped save my life. Now I am preparing for another difficult chapter.

I completed my pre-op appointment on Monday, August 24. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank, 500 Harvard St. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. With surgery approaching quickly, I am preparing mentally, emotionally, and physically for the road ahead.

Current provider estimates list an estimated patient responsibility of $92,089.18, and I have an existing medical balance of $2,921.14. Together, the documented amount is approximately $95,010 before financial assistance. These figures are estimates, not final bills, and may change. I am waiting to learn what financial assistance may be available. I also expect to miss approximately six weeks of work and will have postoperative care and other recovery expenses. Redacted copies of the current cost documents are included with this fundraiser.

I am asking for help so I can focus on preparing for surgery and healing afterward instead of carrying this financial uncertainty alone. Donations will help with medical expenses, time away from work, follow-up care, prescriptions, transportation, and other needs during recovery.
