Support Jennifer Bloom's Recovery Journey

I am starting this gofundme on behalf of my best friend, Jennifer Bloom and her parents, Greg & Toni. At 22 years young and in the following years, Jenn was diagnosed with both Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that has caused her body's immune system to attack its own healthy tissue and organs. The RA, a chronic autoimmune disease has caused her extreme pain, swelling, and joint issues for nearly 15 years.

For those of you who know Jenn, you know that she has fought these diseases, and done so with courage, pride, and passion. She has used her time on social media to educate others about these debilitating diseases, while continuing to exude positivity and hope. From 2012-2016, I had the opportunity to work at the same organization as Jenn. In those years working together, she powered through her constant flare ups, prioritized her work and clients as she always does, and hid her pain with strength and determination.

A few weeks ago Jenn was rushed to the ER (where she has been more times than any of us can begin to imagine), with pneumonia, 104 fever, and a staph infection in both lungs. Because of her chronic diseases, Jenn's body went into septic shock which began to cause damage to her kidneys and resulted in a dramatic drop in blood pressure. She was immediately intubated and placed into a medically induced coma to allow her body to heal. After three weeks in the hospital, Jenn has proved once again that she is a fighter. She is awake, speaking, and looking forward to being discharged. Unfortunately, during her stay, her insurance company informed her that they would not be renewing her policy, which expired on October 29th. Due to this change, Jenn and her family are going to be faced with an unbearable number of expenses, including a home care nurse and physical and respiratory therapy. As you know, Jenn is one of the most giving and compassionate humans, and now it is our turn to help her.
