Update: Our mom Jennifer is currently in Kernan Rehabilitation Center. Her current status is paraplegia. This means she does not currently have the use of her body below the breast line. From the fall, the nerves that communicate with her brain to her lower body and bowels were severely damaged. It is only with time, healing and the power of prayer and Gods will that she will walk again. We ask that you keep her in your prayers as she navigates this new life. With many hurdles still in front of us, we still need support along the way. Mom will have a list of medications that she will need for the unforeseen future, catheters and many other medical supplies. We are hoping when her insurance gets approved that most of that will be covered. But there are other needs to get mom’s house outfitted to accommodate her new life. Her bathroom is entirely too small and needs to be renovated to fit a wheelchair and so that she can shower.
Jennifer Wyatt, my mother , 66 years young. A mother of 4 , including 2 huskies , and a devout advocate for animals and dogs .
Recently my mother had a major hip surgery, and as a result of this surgery, she walks her dogs to get exercise and move her hip for the sake of therapy, recommended by her doctor . Unexpectedly as she stopped to talk with neighbors, her dog blue saw two other dogs near by , and blue our dog charged, yanked my mother and she fell between a car and the concrete of the curb. My mother fell face first into the ground , and fractured her vertebrae, and broke 2 ribs at the age of 66 after just recovering from a major hip surgery .Aside from the fact that my mother just had a recent hip replacement. Her life is extremely fragile , and delicate being that she has some underlying health issues . My mother has chronic diabetes, she has also hit or hurt her head in the past. Once as she fell off her bike on a trail ride with her husband and had a concussion, which concerns me greatly . And the other incident was Jennifer was brining her grandchildren home from school and a school bus came into her lane , hit her car and caused her a concussion. Now though she has healed from these incidents, im sure they still have underlying effects and even more so in the condition she is in now . My mother is a machine, i will never understand how a 66 year old woman , was immediately back at work a day or so after a hip replacement, but she was . Not now ! Now is the time for her to focus on being with family and being alive. Nothing more and nothing less . .This is a life changing event . My mother is the back bone of our family. The photos are of her in shock trauma . She cant move from the waist down , she is currently in a 3, to 4 hour surgery . Our family needs a miracle. My mother is a persistent worker . She was back at work running a business 1 day after her recent hip surgery. This incident puts her entire life at major risk . The risk of losing our home , and every thing else in life that matters. Please we do not know the final cost of having to balance life from this tragedy , but our family needs help desperately! Please help and consider donating as we hold on to the thin strings we have to hold our lives and hers together as we figure out how to adapt to this situation. My mother will be in the hospital for months before we truly know the results of the injuries she has sustained. We are hopeful, however the doctors have informed us that my mother could be paralyzed and unable to walk again.
