Donate to support Jennifer Roberts during her medical crisis

My name is Tammy Harrison. Nancy Allen and I are mutual friends of Jennifer. We met her in 2017-2018 after joining the same company providing hospice care to patients and families near Hickory, NC. Jennifer's family is from upstate NY but she moved to the south 12 years ago. She is an amazing nurse, a faithful friend, and a loving dog momma. On any given day, you could find Jennifer hiking in a park or on the Blue Ridge Parkway capturing beautiful pictures of nature, the sunrise, waterfalls, and of course, her four legged friends. She has dedicated her life to caring for patients and their families, friends, and animals.
In November of 2024, everything changed. Jennifer developed a respiratory infection and was treated with antibiotics and steroids. She has never recovered from this "respiratory infection" and her condition has worsened despite multiple doctor appointments, several hospitalizations, many test and scans, and multiple medication changes. Jennifer's symptoms include severe shortness of breath, coughing (which has caused multiple broken ribs), pain, edema to trunk and lower extremities, an elevated blood pressure and heart rate, activity intolerance, and dizziness. These symptoms have made it impossible for Jennifer to work. She has been out on FMLA since February hoping to heal and recover her stamina so that she can return to work. We drove to see a specialist in Chapel Hill, NC in hopes of finding answers and beginning a plan of treatment to relieve her symptoms. More testing was ordered, but so far the physicians have been unable to determine the diagnosis that has debilitated her. Jennifer has medical bills, a mortgage, and the cost of living that have exhausted money she has withdrawn from her 401k. She has applied for long term disability with work and has 30 days before she has to begin paying for insurance out of pocket. Her disability check from work will most likely cover the cost of insurance and a few other small bills but will not pay her mortgage, the remaining bills and other things she needs from day to day. She is planning on selling her truck and has considered selling her home and moving back to NY because her health has deteriorated so rapidly. But all of this takes time and money and she is completely overwhelmed which is understandable. Her physician directed her to start the disability process. She has begun this but has been told that it can take a year or more to be approved. Jennifer was a completely healthy person in early November 2024 working full-time and never expected to be needing assistance of any kind in 2025. She has always been the one to reach out. I am asking everyone that reads this post to do one or all of the following things. Please pray for a definitive diagnosis and effective treatment for Jennifer. Please donate to help support her during this unexpected journey. And lastly, please share this post on your page and with friends, because every prayer and every dollar will make a difference in her life.
Thank you so much!!
Tammy and Nancy
