Hi, my name is Jennifer Lopez, and I’m the proud mom of four amazing kids. I’m writing this with a heavy heart, but also with hope that compassion still exists in this world.

Not long ago, the sheriff’s department came to our home and broke down our door, searching for someone who no longer lives here. A week later, we received an “order of deportation” letter addressed to a former tenant — not to us. Ever since, my family has been living in fear and uncertainty, terrified that something could happen to my husband or that we could be separated.

To protect our family and find peace again, we’ve made the difficult decision to move out and start over somewhere new, even if it means sleeping in our family car until we can find a home. I’m doing everything I can to make sure my children have a safe place to call home.

My dream is to find a forever home — a place where my kids can feel safe, my husband and I can breathe again, and we can start rebuilding our lives without fear. With the holidays coming up, I also want to make this time a little sweeter and more joyful for my children after all the fear and chaos they’ve experienced.
