Our dear friend Jennifer Keenan recently experienced a life-changing accident while travelling in the Philippines — a trip that began as a dream quickly turned into a traumatic and frightening ordeal.

While on the final stop of an island boat tour, Jennifer was walking across a bridge when it suddenly collapsed beneath her. She was thrown into the water and pinned between large, sharp concrete blocks. Unable to move and in severe pain, she was trapped as people rushed to help free her.

It took multiple people to pull her out, revealing the extent of her injuries — including a pole that had pierced through her leg and severe damage to her ankle. With limited access to immediate medical care, it took hours for Jennifer to reach a hospital while bleeding and in significant distress.

Jennifer is now facing a long road to recovery. She is currently unable to stand, is in considerable pain, and is undergoing ongoing medical assessment to determine the full extent of her injuries.

To make matters more difficult, her phone was damaged during the accident, delaying communication and support while she navigates medical care and works with insurance providers to arrange treatment and her return home.

Despite the trauma, Jennifer has shown incredible strength. She has spoken with deep gratitude about the strangers who rushed to help her — those who freed her, supported her, and reminded her she was not alone during such a terrifying experience.
