It is with deep sadness that we share that Jennifer passed away on October 22. She faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and love. Jennifer was a devoted mother, friend, and colleague whose kindness touched everyone around her. As we grieve this loss, we want to continue supporting her children during this difficult time.
*************************
In November 2023, Jennifer learned that her cancer—which we all thought she had overcome—had returned. She was diagnosed with stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer that has spread to her lungs, liver, and bones. It’s a very aggressive form of breast cancer that’s incredibly difficult to treat, but if you know Jennifer, you know she’s not giving up.
She began treatment in January 2024, and since then, has done several different chemotherapies in the search for something that will work well. Currently, she is doing Gemcitabine, a chemotherapy, along with Keytruda, an immunotherapy treatment. She’s been referred to leading cancer research hospitals and has traveled to MD Anderson in Houston and Fred Hutchinson in Seattle, where she is currently being screened for a phase 1 clinical trial. She’s now waiting to hear if she has been accepted.
With both of her children in college, Jennifer is navigating the demands of treatment and travel as best she can. Still, the road ahead carries many unknowns, especially when it comes to future medical expenses and out-of-state travel for potential clinical trials.
If you are able to contribute, thank you so much. If not, please consider sharing her story. Every kind gesture, donation, and word of encouragement means more than you know.
Thank you for keeping Jennifer in your thoughts.
