Mother of 3 Battling Stage 4 Mouth Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

My name is Kass, and I’m writing to you today to ask for your support for my dear friend, Jennifer Hawley, a brave and loving single mother of three who is battling Stage 4 mouth cancer.

Jen is a 33-year-old woman who is —full of love, laughter, and who has a fierce devotion to her children. As a single mom, she has always worked tirelessly to care for her kids and create a warm, loving home for them. But life has become a relentless battle. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 mouth cancer. This type of cancer is particularly rare for someone as young as Jen, and even more so for someone who has never used tobacco. To make matters even more challenging, she is also managing three autoimmune disorders, which complicate her recovery and make her body more vulnerable to illness.

This week, Jen underwent a significant surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from the roof of her mouth. The procedure was extensive: not only did the doctors excise the tumor, but they also reconstructed the roof of her mouth and performed surgery on the right side of her neck. To facilitate this, they took skin and tissue from her left forearm, which was then grafted to her mouth and neck. Additionally, to repair her forearm, they needed to harvest skin and muscle from her hip. This was an incredibly complex and painful surgery, and while it was essential for giving her a fighting chance, it means she faces a long and challenging recovery ahead.

Now, she faces six weeks of post-surgery recovery which is followed by six weeks of radiation therapy. This will further weaken her already fragile body. The physical and emotional toll is immense, and she will need to take at least three months off work to focus on her healing. As a single mother, this loss of income is a huge burden, adding to the already overwhelming financial strain of medical expenses, bills, and the everyday costs of caring for her three children.

Through all of this, Jen has continued to be a loving and devoted mother to her kids, but she cannot do this alone. She needs our help more than ever.

How You Can Help:

We are asking for your support to raise funds for Jen's medical expenses, ongoing radiation treatments, and the daily needs of her family during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly help ease her financial burden, allowing her to focus on her recovery and being there for her children, who need her more than ever.

If you are able, please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Your generosity will allow Jen the peace of mind to focus on her healing, without the added stress of how to cover mounting financial expenses.
