Jennifer Diaz has spent her life caring for others in their most critical moments. She became a nurse, dedicating herself to supporting patients and families in the ER during their hardest days. Today, Jennifer is the one facing the fight of her life.

She was recently diagnosed with a G1 typical carcinoid tumor of the lung, a rare form of lung cancer—despite never having smoked a day in her life. After meeting with her medical team, the decision was made that she must undergo surgery to remove affected lobes of her lung. Her surgery is taking place today at Jackson Hospital. Following the procedure, she is expected to spend at least three days in the ICU as she begins the long road to recovery.

Jennifer is not just a nurse or first responder. She is a devoted mother to two beautiful little girls, Kamila and Kaylie, who need their mom strong, healing, and home with them. Because of this major surgery, Jennifer will be unable to work for an extended period of time. As one of the primary providers, this creates a significant financial strain on her family. Medical bills, insurance deductibles, ongoing treatment costs, and everyday living expenses will continue — even while her income pauses.
