Jennifer is one of those people who shows up for the people she loves without hesitation. Over the past few years, she has done just that in ways that most of us can only imagine.
After losing her father just two years ago, Jennifer gave everything she had to support him during that time, both emotionally and financially, helping manage his care and transition into assisted living while traveling back and forth and stepping away from work. That alone was a heavy burden to carry.
Not long after, she was faced with another devastating challenge when her mom was diagnosed with cancer in October 2024. As an only child, she has carried this entire journey on her own, without family support.
From that moment on, she poured everything she had into helping her mom fight.
Living in New York while her mom was in Florida, Jennifer made countless trips back and forth, taking extended time away from work to be by her side. She took 12 weeks off last year and another 6 weeks this year, sacrificing financially and personally just to make sure her mom was never alone in this battle.
She left no stone unturned. Jennifer sought out second opinions, brought her mom to Moffitt Cancer Center for additional care, explored holistic options, researched endlessly, and advocated every step of the way. She gave her mom not just care, but dignity, comfort, and unwavering love.
Despite her strength and determination, her mom’s health declined quickly, and she passed away just a few days ago.
Over the past few years, Jennifer has taken on an immense financial burden while caring for both of her parents. She has borrowed money and taken on debt just to travel back and forth between New York and Florida, stepping away from work for extended periods of time to make sure neither of them was ever alone.
Now, she is not only grieving the loss of both of her parents, but also facing the reality of managing everything that comes next, completely on her own.
Neither of Jennifer’s parents had financial resources, savings, or retirement set aside, which means she is now responsible for all of the expenses that come with this loss.
In addition to that, she is doing everything she can to keep her mom’s condo from going into foreclosure. Mortgage payments, HOA fees, and other ongoing costs have not stopped, and she is working urgently to stabilize the situation.
For the first time in 20 years, Jennifer has an opportunity to finally relocate to Florida, something she has been hoping to do for a long time, and take over the condo as a way to rebuild and move forward. But getting to that point requires navigating the immediate financial pressure she is currently under.
We are starting this fundraiser to help support Jennifer through this critical moment. This is not simply about replacing lost income, but about helping her manage the immediate and ongoing financial responsibilities so she can stabilize her situation and begin to move forward after so much loss.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference. And if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for supporting Jennifer and keeping her in your thoughts.
