Dear friends and family near and far,

A little more than a week before Thanksgiving, my sister-in-law Jennie had a seizure that impacted her right leg and arm. My brother Ben rushed Jennie to the hospital. After undergoing a series of tests, doctors determined that Jennie had a brain tumor. She had surgery less than 48 hours later. The surgery was a success! The tumor was completely removed. Doctors sent the tumor off for further testing. Following the testing, doctors confirmed that the tumor was an aggressive grade 3 or grade 4 cancerous tumor. The full pathology of the tumor is yet unknown. What the Loven family does know is that Jennie will be undergoing treatment that will include both radiation and chemotherapy - both of which have begun.

Jennie and Ben are faced with mounting medical bills and other unexpected expenses. As Jennie continues treatment, these will continue to accrue. As treatment continues, it is also a very real possibility that Jennie may also experience lost wages. With their permission, I am organizing a fundraiser for the Loven family and ask that you consider helping take the financial burden off their shoulders to allow them to focus on Jennie’s fight against cancer, their time together and with their children, and hope for the future. As individuals who serve others (Jennie is a high school English teacher and Ben is a pastor), it is hard for them to ask for help financially; however, at this moment in time, they truly are in need of some financial assistance and continued prayer.
