Hello! I’m your friendly neighborhood girl named Jennelle. Last week on March 24th I became hospitalized for 4 days due to severe abdominal pain and unexplained bleeding. During those 4 days, I endured several CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, pokes, prods, and questions. The doctors found concerning (currently undiagnosed) fluid and teratomas growth within my lower left abdomen in addition to a hemorrhaging ovarian cyst. Given the ominous combination, we decided to go for one major and one minor surgery instead of performing several minor surgeries to diagnose and then potentially more surgeries to fix each individual problem.

That major surgery is a (partial) hysterectomy with (partial) oophorectomy. … in laymen’s terms… They’ll be removing the majority of my reproductive organs and cleaning out the foreign growths while they’re in there.

This surgery will render me complete infertile which is an emotional burden I’ve been battling for over a decade and it’s a soul shattering outcome.

The surgery will require me to be out of work 8-12 weeks due to the depth of the work being done.

Unfortunately, I am NOT full-time at either of my jobs and therefore will not qualify for short-term disability pay from either. This surgery needs to be performed urgently, while not technically an emergency, the longer I wait the more my body will be negatively affected, particularly by the hemorrhaging cyst.

I am asking for help, staying afloat, while I fight to regain my quality of life. Unfortunately, this all came on very quickly and it was not in my budget to take 2-3 months off from work altogether.

My (half of the) rent, car payment, car insurance, phone bill, and additional utilities add up to over $2000 a month. That doesn’t include gas, food, or medication.

My goal is to raise $2500 to get me through a month without having to worry about finances while I focus on recovery and healing.
