Hi, I’m Jessica. I am writing to you on behalf of my younger sister Jennee Knauer and her family.

At the age of 45 years young, Jennee underwent surgery on Nov. 5th to repair a herniated disc in her lower back. Over the past ten months, Jennee has been to the doctor dozens of times. Had multiple trips to the emergency room. Gone through weeks and weeks of physical therapy. She has suffered never ending sleepless nights and endured pain so severe, so excruciating that she was forced to crawl on the floor at times. She has missed work and has used every bit of vacation/PTO she had available to help ends meet and will now be on medical leave for the rest of the year.

We all know how expensive it is to live these days. Mortgage payments, utilities, fuel, groceries all add up quickly, leaving little left for savings, especially with the holidays coming. Throw in doctor’s fees, physical therapy, medication, imaging costs, travel expenses, hospital bills, other unexpected expenses, and you quickly find your family in financial trouble.

My sister is about as devoted as they come. She is a wonderful mother to her four girls (Sierra, Kayla, Madison, Maci), wife to her husband (Aaron), sister to me (Sica), employee to Star Store (24 years), and friend to many others. She has supported us through tragic loss, medical emergencies, and life-changing events all while fighting her own battle.
