Support Jenna's Fight Against Myasthenia Gravis

Donation protected
For those of you that have been following Jenna and her family’s journey you’ve probably seen her recent decline in health. She was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called Myasthenia Gravis as well as a cancerous tumor on her thymus. Their family sold everything to chase their dream of sailing the ocean and exploring new places. Jennas health started to decline shortly after and it has been very trying both physically, emotionally, and financially. MG is a rare neuromuscular, autoimmune disorder that can impact your ability to see, swallow, smile, walk, breathe, or engage in normal, everyday activity. Jenna found herself in what they call an MG crisis and they rushed back to the states to get proper medical care. She was immediately admitted into the ICU to receive treatment and have surgery to remove both her thymus and the malignant tumor that was attached to her heart and chest wall. After getting her stable again she was discharged from the hospital in hopes that it was under control and they could return back to their normal lives on the boat, but that was short lived and she ended up back in the ICU. Despite having an amazing medical team that specializes in MG doing everything they could, she was placed on a ventilator for 6 days and spent weeks in the hospital enduring countless tests and medical treatments. There is no cure for myasthenia gravis, but there are treatments to manage symptoms. Some people can go into remission, but for many people, myasthenia gravis is a chronic illness. Jenna and her family have been so blessed to have people step up and help in whatever way they could and I’m asking for people to continue doing that while they figure out how to get her into a state of remission. They’ve had to put their whole life on hold to fight this disease. She has three beautiful children and a loving husband that want to see her healthy again. Their family will have to stay in Kansas while she continues chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. All of their belongings are in the middle of the ocean in another country. On top of the immense stress of getting Jenna better they now have to deal with medical expenses, somewhere to live while they’re here, and the expenses of day to day living while going through treatments. If you know Jenna then you know she is strong and resilient, but this has been a very traumatic and scary experience. It’s been hard to go from being so active and healthy to not even being able to breathe, swallow, walk, or open her eyes on her own. Thank you to all the prayer warriors that have fought unseen battles, and to all the people who have been there for her and her family during this difficult time. If you’re able, please consider donating towards these unexpected expenses so that we can at least alleviate some of the financial burden off their family while she continues to heal!
