My name is Dylan, and I'm writing this for my girlfriend Jenna, who was recently diagnosed with stage 2A, grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer at 28 years old. I want to share what she's going through and why we've decided to reach out to our community for support.
Jenna has always been healthy and active, a former competitive powerlifter who was working toward her first bodybuilding competition. Cancer doesn't care about any of that, and it has completely changed the course of the next year of her life. She is strong and determined, and she is facing each day with courage, but the emotional and financial toll of all of this is immense.
She will be facing both chemotherapy and surgery, and due to her age, she is undergoing fertility preservation before beginning chemo, a sudden and significant expense that insurance barely covers. From there, she will be going through several months of chemotherapy, during which she may not be able to work. The medical bills don't pause during that time; if anything, they continue to rise. Between the cost of treatment, the loss of income, and everything that comes with surgery and recovery on the other side, the financial weight of all of this is very real.
Every dollar donated goes directly toward her medical costs, fertility preservation, and keeping her stable while she focuses on getting through treatment. If you are not in a position to give, sharing this page means more than you know. Thank you for being in our corner.
