Jenna Yurs, my dear friend and coworker at school, has always been someone who gives her all—working two jobs, seven days a week, just to make ends meet. Recently, her life changed in an instant. While working her second job, Jenna began to feel unwell. Later at home, she suffered a stroke that led to a severe brain bleed from a hemorrhage the size of an orange on the right side of her brain. In just two weeks, Jenna was transferred to three different hospitals, underwent surgery to remove the hemorrhage, and is now facing a long and challenging road to recovery. She is currently receiving intensive physical and occupational therapy at a hospital in Park Ridge, determined to regain her strength and independence.
