Support Jenna and Ryan after the Loss of Baby Emmie

This is Jenna and Ryan Luft. We were expecting our first child, a baby girl, due in July!
On April 3, 2025 this all changed....
It was a normal Thursday, Jenna had no complications to date and was feeling good, feeling baby move around often! Jenna's dad was in town visiting. They were going to go to dinner about 6pm. Around 4:45pm, Jenna started experiencing lower cramping. She thought it was growing pains and decided to lay down with a heating pad and take a shower before going to dinner. At about 5:15pm, Jenna's water broke. She immediately called Ryan in a panic. Both Ryan and Jenna's dad were right around the corner.
When they arrived they rushed to Banner Desert Medical Center Emergency Room. Baby had a strong heartbeat, however her heartrate kept dropping. The medical staff was evaluating when it was determined Jenna was dilatated to 2CM. The umbilical cord had prolapsed and was on its way out along with Baby's Foot. This caused severe concern for the Emergency Room Staff and rushed Jenna to Emergency Surgery to save Baby Girl.
At 6:10pm we welcomed sweet Emerson "Emmie" Lee Luft. She was 1 lb 5 oz and 12 inches in length. She was born at 24 Weeks 2 Days. She was stable and thriving in the NICU. She was responding to medical treatments and doctors were impressed on her fight at such a young age.
Overnight, her status decreased. Her lungs were struggling to support her. They were having a difficult time keeping air inside her lungs. This was ultimately making her lungs squish her heart. Doctors placed a chest tube to support her lungs. Doctors also noticed her Blood Pressure was dropping. They provided blood transfusions to support. The Blood transfusions should raise her blood pressure unless there was more going on. Emmie's blood pressure was not rising causing a bigger concern. Doctors speculated there was a leak somewhere not allowing her blood pressure to rise. Being her heart was struggling to maintain proper blood flow, her body was searching for other main organs to apply the blood flow too. Her body had decided to have the blood go to her Brain. It was discovered Emmie had a Level 4 Brain Bleed on Both sides of her brain.
Doctors and Medical Staff provided countless efforts to save our little peanut, however God had a bigger plan for her. On April 4, While in mom and dads arms, Emmie went Peacefully to be with Jesus. We had 21 beautiful hours with our Baby Girl.
We miss her terribly, but know we will see her again!
We would like to deeply thank the Banner Desert Medical Staff especially the NICU team for all they did in efforts to comfort our sweet Emmie Lee. We also cannot thank them enough for their empathic responses to such a traumatic and emotionally difficult time for us as a family.
Any and all supports are welcome, however we appreciate most your love, prayers and support!
Love Always,
Jenna, Ryan and Baby Emmie
