Support Jenna After Losing Her Beloved Daren
Donation protected
Daren Lane, our sweet daughter Jenna’s husband for nearly 22 years, was ill for three years prior to his death in January of this year. He tried so hard to get better. Time was not on his side. His heart had weakened and several organs were failing. He fought the good fight. Jenna took such good care of him and was certain he was going to pull what she called a “Daren Lane.” Three times during the three years prior to his death, the doctors said that Daren should not have survived. He was ten hours from a new kidney when he coded, and life as Daren and Jenna knew it ended.
The pain of the loss of Daren is inexplicable. Daren adored Jenna, and she him. They were in sync – so very different and yet so very right for each other. Jenna is a type A overachiever. Daren, an extremely talented journeyman carpenter who, with a hug, would calm Jenna and remind her that everything was okay. And yes, it was, until January 7, 2024, the day Jenna lost the love of her life. Jenna’s life changed forever, and contrary to the common belief that time heals – it hasn’t for Jenna.
Every day is a reminder that she and Daren will not grow old together as they planned. In spite of all they went through, they enjoyed each other to the very end – constantly talking and laughing together every single day. Daren’s mother, Carol, told us many times how grateful she was that Daren and Jenna found each other. She said Jenna was the best thing that ever happened to Daren. She thanked us for raising such a fine woman. Carol raised a beautiful man who constantly helped others. Daren and Jenna created wonderful memories, which makes the pain worse because each day Jenna realizes their plans for the future no longer exist.
Daren and Jenna have always been very private people; most people do not know they suffered three miscarriages. After 18 years and no children, they adopted a puppy – Chiley. It seems Daren knew that Jenna would need Chiley after he was gone.
As if the stress of losing Daren isn’t enough, Jenna is dealing with the bills, which have mounted up to $50,000. It has taken months for Jenna to agree to file this GoFundMe page. Her feeling is that she should be able to take care of the bills. Unrealistic with just her income. Any amount will help Jenna.
