Support Jenn Hansberger-Bray's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
We are asking for the community’s help to support a local mom, Jenn Hansberger-Bray, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and found out in July, following a bilateral mastectomy, that she has invasive micropapillary ductal carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that had already spread to her lymph nodes. Her cancer is currently late stage 3b-4, which means it is quite severe. She is in for the fight of her life, and it is a fight her family needs her to win.
Jenn is a single mom to two daughters, Alexis, age 23, and Faith, age 14. She has always held a job and worked hard to provide them with a warm, loving home and opportunities to participate in all the activities that are important to them. She is a longtime caretaker for a local family’s children, but she has not been able to work since June 1st due to her diagnosis and is expected to be off work for at least one year. Given the severity of the side effects associated with the aggressive treatment she needs, it is uncertain if she will ever be able to return to her previous line of work. Insurance will cover some of her medical care, but it won’t come anywhere close to covering all the day-to-day and travel expenses she will incur as she drives back and forth to Grand Rapids for the intensive chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical treatments she will need over the next several years.
Jenn is in for an uphill battle, but her chemotherapy port was placed last week and she is preparing to fight. She deserves to see her oldest daughter build her career and start her adult life. She deserves to see her youngest daughter graduate high school and pursue her dreams for her future. Her daughters deserve to celebrate life’s milestones with their mom by their side. For that to happen, they need our help. Please consider donating to support this very deserving family. If you can’t donate, please share to spread the word!
