Hi everyone,

I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my dad Johnny but most of you know him by Dean, who was seriously injured in an accident on Tuesday, July 15th. While working at a job site, he was trying to access his truck when it began rolling unexpectedly and ran over his leg, causing severe injuries.

He was airlifted to CMC Main and underwent emergency surgery that night. After several days in the hospital, he was able to come home, but just a few days later, he had to return due to complications. Doctors suspected a blood clot, but instead found he had developed cellulitis and a serious infection in his leg. Since being re-admitted, he’s had two more surgeries, and now faces a long recovery with a wound vac that he’ll need to use at home.

Unfortunately, his insurance isn’t covering many of the hospital bills or any home care he needs/wound care clinic visits—and those costs are extremely high. Between surgeries, hospital stays, medications, and follow-up care, the financial burden is growing quickly. My family and I are doing everything we can, but we’ve reached a point where we need to ask for help.

For those who know my dad, you know he’s never been the type to ask for anything—he’s always been the one people go to for help. He’d give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, no questions asked. Now, he’s the one in need, and we’re hoping the community he’s always supported can help support him in return.
