Hi everyone, my name is Jenifer Martinez Segura, and I’m currently a graduate student pursuing my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
Education has always been one of my biggest dreams. As a first-generation Latina student, I’ve had to work twice as hard to get to where I am today — balancing school, family responsibilities, and financial challenges while continuing to push toward my dream of becoming a mental health therapist.
Unfortunately, I do not qualify for financial aid or federal loans, which has made it difficult to afford tuition and school expenses. I’ve been paying for school out of pocket with the help of my family, but it has been financially challenging.
Now that I’ve started my practicum hours, I’ve had to leave my job to dedicate the time required to complete my training and graduate. This has made it even harder to cover my tuition and educational costs on my own.
I’m reaching out for support to help me cover tuition and academic expenses for my final semester. Your donation — no matter how small — will go directly toward helping me cross the finish line and graduate.
My goal is to become a Spanish-speaking licensed family and marriage therapist (LMFT) who provides culturally sensitive services and advocates for underserved communities. Every contribution helps me move one step closer to that dream.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting students like me who are working hard to make a difference through education. If you’re not able to donate, simply sharing this page would mean so much to me.
With gratitude,
Jenifer Martinez Segura
