My name is Jose Mercado, and I am raising funds for my wife, Jenette.

In November 2023, Jenette was diagnosed with Stage 4 Appendiceal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Since then, our lives have been consumed by treatment, surgeries, and uncertainty.

In late 2023 and mid-2024, Jenette underwent three major surgeries, including HIPEC, an intensive procedure used for advanced abdominal cancers. She also completed two full rounds of chemotherapy. A third round was needed but has so far proven ineffective.

Jenette has been offered Histotripsy, a promising non-invasive ultrasound treatment that may succeed where traditional therapies have failed. This treatment will give us real hope. Unfortunately, Histotripsy is not covered by our military insurance.
