My name is Jen, and I never imagined I would be in this position. At 49, after 25 years in the tech industry, I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. The diagnosis changed everything. I am now 50, unable to work, and waiting for disability support to begin. Being single and without any income, I am struggling to keep up with rent and bills. My phone is about to be turned off, and I am worried about how I will manage until disability comes through.
The funds I raise here will go directly toward my most urgent needs: paying this month's rent, keeping my phone on, and covering gas money for my frequent trips to speech therapy, physical therapy, and regular doctor and neurologist appointments. I am also searching for a memory care facility, as my current apartment is up three flights of stairs, which has become nearly impossible for me to manage. I can no longer safely use the bathtub, so I have to take sponge baths, and I know I need a safer place to live soon.
I know you don't know me, but I truly need help. When I was working, I made it a point to donate to GoFundMe fundraisers every month, hoping to make a difference for others. Now, I am hoping that someone will see my situation and be able to help me out. Any support you can give would mean the world to me and help me get through this incredibly difficult time.
