On August 15th, Jen and her children lost Jose Juan “Johnny” Mandujano in a heartbreaking tragedy. After a serious single-vehicle accident left Juan’s car flipped and badly damaged, he was missing and unaccounted for. When he did not return home, his family tracked his phone to the tow company and learned about the crash, then immediately began searching the area around the accident site. They searched into the dark, desperate to find him. The next morning, Juan was found near the crash site down an embankment, but it was unfortunately too late. In a matter of hours, Jen and her children endured both the terror of not knowing and the devastating loss of a husband, father, and the family’s main provider.

Juan was deeply loved by everyone who knew him, and his loss has left an enormous hole in the lives of Jen, their two daughters, and their little boy, known lovingly as “Little Johnny.” As they face this unimaginable grief, this fundraiser is being created to help ease some of the financial strain ahead. Donations will go toward funeral expenses and living support for Jen and the children as they try to navigate life without Juan. Please consider helping in any way you can. Jeni and her children have been overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love and support they have received from their family, friends, loved ones, and community.

Today, one of the children said, “Mom, Dad was so loved by everyone. Look at all the people who have come by to see us.”

Those words are a heartbreaking reminder of just how deeply he is loved.

Yesterday, the children had to learn the devastating news that their father would not be coming home. Today was supposed to be their first day of school, and this evening, their family will gather for their father’s rosary.

There are no words adequate enough for the magnitude of what this family is facing. They are completely shattered as they try to navigate the unimaginable loss of Jeni’s husband and the love of her life, their children’s father and greatest supporter, and the sole provider for their family.

And yet, in the midst of this profound grief, they continue to be surrounded by people who love them. Every visit, every message, every meal, every act of kindness, and every person who has shown up is a reminder to this family that they do not have to carry this alone.

They will continue to need our support in the days and weeks ahead as they begin making funeral arrangements and try to keep their family and home together in the wake of this immeasurable loss. The practical realities of life do not stop simply because a family is grieving, and this family has an enormous amount to navigate while trying to process a loss that has changed everything.
