Support Jen and Caleb's ICU Journey

Donation protected
UPDATE: 3/2/25 Jen is home!! The best update we could have asked for. She is still needing to go back to the hospital periodically for follow ups and wound care but she is officially discharged and reunited with her baby girl! Please keep thinking of her while she works at making a full recovery! Thanks to everyone for the support and community that has came together. We are so grateful.

UPDATE: 2/26/25 Jen has been moved to the labor and delivery unit for recovery. She is still very weak from everything her body was put through but is slowly getting up and moving. Her doctors are amazed at how far she has come, AFE being as rare as it is has a foundation that has reach out for her to be apart of a case study to hopefully help there research and understand of why this happens. We are so proud of Jen for her strength and determination throughout her recovery.

UPDATE: 2/25/25 Our happiest update thus far… the tubes are gone! Jen is already yapping away! Our girl is breathing on her own and is working on getting mobile! She is still putting in a lot of hard work to pass all of these necessary steps to come home. Next step is using the bathroom, standing, walking, and eating. She has had a very special visitor up to the hospital and the bond they have even after being separated for the first few days of life is one of the strongest bonds I have ever witnessed. Our family will be forever grateful for our community of family and friends and also the doctors, nurses and techs who laid a hand on our sweet Jen.

UPDATE: 2/24/25 Jen is in the SICU. She is still on the ventilator but so close to the finish line on getting it removed. Today she worked on sitting upright in a chair which helped also to clear her lungs. She is communicating via keyboard typing and writing. She is aware of where she is and sadly what has happened. She has had a lot of medications and IV lines removed today. She is working on getting the fluid off from the fluid spacing she is experiencing. She is still lightly sedated and on meds for pain. She still has a long check list of things to accomplish but is checking off boxes daily.
Once again thanks to everyone for the continued support.

UPDATE: 2/23/25 Jen is stable in the ICU. She is still on the ventilator but should be weaned off in the next few days. Our top priority at the moment is getting all of the fluid off of her from fluid shifting. We have had an amazing team of doctors and nurses at both hospitals with the best healing hands. We are encouraged by her progress every day and her doctors have been in shock at her recovery, and would even go as far as some calling it miraculous. Our Jen has kept her spirts up with a lot of head nods, eye openings, hand squeezes, toe wiggles, smiles, and even a few middle fingers lol. This girl is one heck of a fighter and she is sprinting towards the finish line. Thanks everyone who has donated to her go fund me or shared. This community has been so humbling, so kind and loving to support this brand new family as they are going through this nightmare.

UPDATE: 2/22/25 We now know Jen has suffered from an amniotic fluid embolism. She is still in the ICU in stable but critical condition. She has had several blood transfusions, been placed and taken off of ecmo, had hemorrhaging devices placed, and is still currently on a ventilator and will be for several more days. She is not out of the woods yet as there are a few set backs she has had. She continues to fight and we have had very good positive updates and some harder conversations as well. The baby is home and is getting around the clock care by family who also may need support during this time with time off work to care for her daughter. Please donate to remove one added stress this family simply does not need to worry about.

Our sweet Jen and my brother in law Caleb welcomed their precious baby girl into the world with a little dash of chaos. Jen will require several weeks of care in the ICU due to complications. We are asking for any donations to help with the cost of medical expenses, and time off these two will need. Please respect privacy and prayers are always appreciated.
