Support Jen; A Single Mom's Journey to a Better Future.

Hello! I'm starting this fundraiser to help my best friend, Jen. Jen is a hard-working single mom who, for the last several years, has been attending college to work toward a better future for her and her family, as well as working two jobs and several side gigs to take care of her twin son and daughter, Bishop and Cassie. Not only is she a dedicated mother and student, even with her busy life, Jen still always makes time to be a wonderful friend.

Jen is just a special kind of person. No matter what she has going on in her own life, she is the kind of friend who will make time to bake you a birthday cake. She is the friend who will stop by when you are sick and drop off some soup. Jen will celebrate the good times with you and will always be there with a hug to help you through the hard times. She will support even the smallest, most trivial seeming milestone in your personal journey. Jenny is strong, smart and kind, more than she knows or would admit. She deserves so much more than the world has given her, but never would ask for it. That is why I am asking for the help she needs and hoping to get that help from the people she has touched in her life or anyone who knows the struggle of doing all you can and coming up short.

Jen’s full-time job has a college tuition reimbursement program that she has been using to pay for her degree, but after filling out the paperwork as she has done for other semesters, new HR staff have informed her that the rules have changed. She now has to pay the tuition up front and then wait at least a month for reimbursement, instead of being able to defer the payment. Jen now has to come up with $3000 to pay up front for her tuition not to be dropped from the program. For a single mom working two jobs just to provide for her family, a sudden $3000 bill is just not doable. I am asking you all to pitch in to help Jen get her tuition paid so she doesn’t have to drop out of university this semester and give up her dream of a better future. A few of us close friends have put together some of the money for the tuition ourselves, we just need a bit more to push her over the edge, so she does not lose her spot in her program. Any amount helps and hopefully you will also leave some words of encouragement for this very special mother and friend.
