Hi, my name is Nicole. I am creating this GoFundMe for Jen, my best friend who has doubled as a mother figure to me, and a grandmother to my children.

Jen had a syncopal episode at the end of May 2024, fell, and broke her nose. While at the hospital, a CT was performed due to hitting her head. At this time, they found a nodule on her thyroid. Her PCP referred her to ENT, and an ultrasound and biopsy were done.

On December 13th, 2024, she underwent a thyroidectomy, and the tissue was sent off for analysis.

Which brings us to where we are now with a diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer. Scans and biopsy have confirmed the cancer has spread.

Jen has already incurred a substantial amount of medical bills, exhausted her PTO due to appointments, surgery, and now she will undergo radiation, as well as RAI (radiation active iodine).

She starts this next week and will have to be off work due to the radioactive process. Even if she felt well enough to work, she has to quarantine to protect others.

Jen is the one who steps in not only when her family and friends need help, but also for complete strangers and those in the community of Hannibal, MO, Van Buren, and Davis Co, as a nurse for 22 years.

I would love for her to be able to heal without the financial burden and stress. Jen is not one to ask for help, as she has tried to keep most of this to herself.
