Hello,

My fellow friends, family, clients, supporters, and strangers of the community. It’s JELLEY here, your local fairy, clown, giant jellyfish, instructor, and spreader of light and love. I come to you on my 30th birthday to ask for some financial support as I prepare for a full ACL replacement and meniscus repair on August 7th.

Due to a colorful life of performing, attempts at skiing, and a couple of accidental falls, I have absolutely trashed my knee. I am lucky to be living pain-free at the moment but unable to move to my fullest ability without the worry of causing even more damage and pain. If I want to continue my life as a performer, I must go through this $6000 surgery and the challenging recovery that follows. I foresee being bedridden for at least 2 weeks and on crutches for 6-8 weeks. This means I am unable to work, and when I go back to work, I will only be teaching a fraction of my classes for at least 2 months as I heal and manage my pain. Unable to perform for 9 months to a year, this is going to create a financial, mental, and physical blow for my husband and me. My goal is to save enough money to cover at least 2 months of rent and bills and to cover some of my medical expenses. I am so used to working hard for my financial independence that asking for money in this way is not easy. BUT when you need help, you must ask for it.

So here I am. If you are able to give any offering to this journey I am about to embark on, any little bit will help me and my family get by. I love and appreciate you all so much, and I plan to continue to give back to my community with my art, teaching, attendance, and support for as long as I can.
