Aloha friends and family,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for Jelbert Nicolas, who was recently involved in a serious car accident on the morning of December 17, 2025. Due to the severity of the accident, he was medevacked to Queen’s Medical Center in O’ahu for intensive care and has undergone multiple surgeries: cervical spine, knee, and ankle surgery.

This accident has caused him to lose mobility and sensation from his elbows down, and because of this, he requires lots of attention, care, and assistance. Thankfully, he has amazing doctors, nurses, family, friends, and resources surrounding him and keeping him in good spirits. However, Jelbert has a long road of healing ahead.

While focusing on his recovery, he is also carrying deep concern for his growing financial burden that comes with medical/rehabilitation bills, air ambulance expenses, and time away from work. Like many in our community, Jelbert has always shown up for others, and now he needs our help.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial stress during this incredibly difficult time. Funds raised will go toward medical expenses, recovery-related costs, and support for his family while he heals.

Once cleared by his doctors, Jelbert will need to go to rehab in the mainland (TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX) where he will participate in intense therapies, in order to strengthen and regain his physical independence. Jelbert has put in continuous effort every day in getting better, and has made it his goal to be able to walk again. Your support will greatly help with rehab fees and transportation that are not covered by insurance.
