Support Jeisi Meckes In Her Battle Against Cancer

Hello! I'm Dan and this is the page for my darling wife Jeisi Meckes, who is currently fighting 3 types of stage 3 breast cancer, with the primary being inflammatory breast cancer. It is painful, hard to diagnose, difficult to treat, and rare enough that most people don't know of its existence.

We are currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with 3 surgeries and radiation being planned in the future to reduce any chance of a relapse. While currently going through chemo, Jeisi has experienced extreme dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, vertigo, loss of taste, lethargy, sensitivity to light, and xerosis. While these symptoms are more than debilitating, we maintain hope and trust in God to lead us to a full recovery and look forward to sharing our eventual victory over this destructive assault on our family.

Our Story: During 2024 Jeisi had noticed a number of strange things. From mood swings, overpowering body odors, rough skin that lost sensitivity, to just an overall feeling of things not being right. It was not until late in the season after yet another doctor and failed antibiotic treatment told her that sore breasts were "just mastitis" since she "can't have cancer due to still breast feeding" that Jeisi took matters into her own hands. Jeisi had looked at her symptoms and found they sounded similar to inflammatory breast cancer symptoms.

Finding no help with her current doctor and his fellows who all insisted it was mastitis, Jeisi located one who actually listened to their patient. Tests were finally done and the initial ultrasound found a lump in her right breast. While vindicated, Jeisi felt that was not the whole story and insisted on more diagnostic tests. After multiple ultrasounds, MRI, biopsy, and finally a visual confirmation, we finally had an accurate picture of the problem. Inflammatory breast cancer, Invasive ductal carcinoma, and invasive ductal carcinoma in situ all in the right breast.

What has followed is a whirlwind of consultations, treatment options, dietary considerations, and long days spent at the hospital. While we have received an overwhelming amount of support and comfort from friends and family, this has still greatly affected our lives and certainly altered our outlook on how the future will look. ¡Hola! Soy Dan y esta es la página de mi querida esposa Jeisi Meckes, quien actualmente lucha contra tres tipos de cáncer de mama en etapa 3, siendo el principal el cáncer de mama inflamatorio. Es doloroso, difícil de diagnosticar, difícil de tratar y tan poco común que la mayoría de las personas desconocen su existencia.

Actualmente estamos recibiendo quimioterapia e inmunoterapia, con tres cirugías y radioterapia programadas para el futuro para reducir cualquier posibilidad de recaída. Durante la quimioterapia, Jeisi ha experimentado mareos extremos, náuseas, diarrea, vértigo, pérdida del gusto, letargo, sensibilidad a la luz y xerosis. Si bien estos síntomas son muy debilitantes, mantenemos la esperanza y confiamos en que Dios nos guiará hacia una recuperación completa y esperamos compartir nuestra victoria final sobre este ataque destructivo a nuestra familia.

Durante 2024, Jeisi notó varias cosas extrañas. Desde cambios de humor, olores corporales intensos, piel áspera que perdió sensibilidad, hasta una sensación general de que algo no iba bien. No fue hasta finales de la temporada, después de que otro médico y un tratamiento antibiótico fallido le dijeran que el dolor en los senos era "solo mastitis", ya que "no podía tener cáncer debido a que seguía amamantando", que Jeisi tomó cartas en el asunto. Jeisi analizó sus síntomas y descubrió que parecían similares a los síntomas inflamatorios del cáncer de mama.

Al no encontrar ayuda con su médico actual ni con sus colegas, quienes insistían en que era mastitis, Jeisi encontró a uno que realmente escuchó a su paciente. Finalmente se realizaron pruebas y la ecografía inicial detectó un bulto en la mama derecha. Aunque reivindicada, Jeisi consideró que esa no era toda la historia e insistió en más pruebas diagnósticas. Después de múltiples ecografías, resonancias magnéticas, biopsias y, finalmente, una confirmación visual, finalmente tuvimos una imagen precisa del problema. Cáncer de mama inflamatorio, carcinoma ductal invasivo y carcinoma ductal invasivo in situ, todos en la mama derecha.

Lo que ha seguido ha sido un torbellino de consultas, opciones de tratamiento, consideraciones dietéticas y largos días de hospitalización. Si bien hemos recibido un apoyo y consuelo inmensos de amigos y familiares, esto ha afectado enormemente nuestras vidas y, sin duda, ha alterado nuestra perspectiva sobre el futuro.
