Help Me Heal and Return to Nursing School
Hi everyone,
As many of you know, I’m usually the one encouraging others — the friend who shows up, the family member who checks in, and the person who believes deeply in the power of connection. Supporting people isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am. That’s why becoming a nurse has always been my dream.
Recently, I injured myself while working out. A recent MRI shows a full labrum tear extending continuously through the entire lateral labrum from anterior to posterior in the setting of a prominent CAM-type osseus protrusion. This injury has rendered me partially (and almost fully) immobile until I can get it fixed.
To add, my wife's company went bankrupt in October and we have been without both health insurance and income while I am out during this timeframe. I've been in extreme pain since the injury and have been having difficulty coping with it all.
I have to make the heartbreaking decision to withdraw from nursing school, at least until I can get surgery and heal. My plan now is to take care of my health first, do the LPN bridge program this summer at Mesa Community College and then hopefully get right back into block 3 and continue where I left off. Pushing through the pain was no longer safe, and stepping away from something I worked so hard for has been incredibly difficult.
This injury has brought unexpected medical expenses, future physical therapy costs, and financial strain while I am out of work and focusing on healing. But this is only a pause — not the end of my journey. I am determined to recover and return stronger than ever.
If you feel led to support me — whether through a donation or simply sharing this page — I am beyond grateful. Your kindness means more than you know, and one day I hope to pay it forward as the nurse I’ve always dreamed of becoming.
With love and gratitude,
Jeff Henry
