Support Jeff's Fight Against Guillain-Barré Syndrome

Donation protected
Jeff, as we all know, is outgoing and can have a conversation with just about anyone for hours on end. He was recently hospitalized in the ICU after being diagnosed with a severe case of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Jeff’s immune system began to attack his nervous system, causing him to lose the ability to use his muscles. Jeff is currently paralyzed and placed on a ventilator but is still cognitively intact and aware of what is going on. As of now, he can communicate with his eyes, and it is clear his fighting spirit is alive and well.

Jeff is in stable condition, and hospital staff are performing plasmapheresis via dialysis to remove and replace the portion of his immune system that is attacking his body. Jeff will likely be in the ICU for a month or more due to the extensive treatment plan to combat his illness. It is a treatable issue but can have long-term effects involving weakness in his muscles and immune system; however, they will be unknown until later. While it is an illness that people have made full recoveries from, it is a day-by-day process, and only time will tell what his road to recovery will look like.

While we all know Jeff to be a strong, smart, and independent man, he will have much to overcome in the coming months. Any prayer, emotional, or financial support will be greatly appreciated. With the high cost of medical bills, it is the goal that Jeff only be focused on his recovery. Thank you for your time; any amount, small or big, is appreciated greatly.
