Help Jeff Donahoe & His Family Recover After Life-Saving Liver Transplant
Hi, my name is Brad Evans, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for one of my closest friends, someone I consider a brother, Jeff Donahoe.
On April 21, 2026, Jeff received a life-saving liver transplant. Thanks to an incredible, living donor and family friend, Jeff has been given a second chance at life. While that miracle is something we are endlessly grateful for, it is only the beginning of a long and difficult road to recovery.
Right now, Jeff is focused on healing and is not in a position to share his story himself. That is why I am stepping in. I want to do everything I can to support him and his family during this time and rally the community around them.
Jeff’s Story
In January 2023, during what should have been a routine colonoscopy, Jeff, just 51 at the time, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer that had already spread to his liver.
Since then, he has fought harder than anyone I know.
He has endured a colon resection along with rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Those treatments helped control the cancer, but they also caused severe damage to his liver, which ultimately led to the need for a transplant.
Now, after everything he has been through, Jeff has been given an incredible gift, a second chance. Recovery from a transplant is no small thing. It is physically, emotionally, and financially demanding.
Why This Matters
Jeff is, first and foremost, a family man.
He is a devoted husband to Michelle and an amazing dad to their two kids:
Patrick (16), a sports-loving teenager just starting to drive
Claire (11), who loves baking and cheerleading
Everything Jeff does is for them.
He runs his own landscaping business, working tirelessly to support his family, while Michelle serves others as a physical therapist in Jeff’s hometown of Dunmore.
Outside of work, Jeff’s happiest moments are simple, spending time with his family at Lake Ariel, especially watching his kids swim and enjoy the water. He is also deeply involved in his church and community.
He is the kind of person who shows up for everyone else. Now it is our turn to show up for him.
Why I Created This GoFundMe
While the transplant itself is behind us, the hardest part in many ways is just beginning.
Jeff faces months of recovery. During this time, he will not be able to work, and for someone whose livelihood depends on physical labor, especially during the busy summer season, that is a major financial hit.
This fundraiser is about giving Jeff and his family breathing room.
Your support will help:
- Cover medical and recovery-related expenses
- Offset lost income during his time away from work
- Support everyday household needs so his family can focus on healing
- Ease the stress of an already overwhelming situation
Every dollar raised goes directly to Jeff and his family.
A Message of Gratitude
I have known Jeff for a long time, and I can honestly say he is one of the strongest, most selfless people I know. Watching him fight through the past three years has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.
He would never ask for help like this himself, but he deserves it.
If you are able to donate, share this page, or simply keep Jeff and his family in your thoughts, it truly means more than I can put into words.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of Jeff’s recovery journey.
