Hello reader,
My name is Regina Salinas and I am here for my dear friends, Linda and Jeff Crouch. We all spend so much time, you can even say, sacrificing so much of our time for our jobs just so we can provide for our families and ultimately retire to enjoy not working anymore. It is at work that we forge strong bonds with co-workers and build our 'work family'. Linda was the work mom who always looked out for everyone at the convention center. She made sure we had everything we needed, whether it was ibuprofen, vitamins, or office supplies. On extremely busy event days, when there was not enough time to escape for some food sustenance, she would pack groceries and cook in the breakroom to feed you. She was amazing, thoughtful, and generous in everything she did. And of course, behind this great woman was a kind and thoughtful husband, Jeff, and I thank Jeff for sharing his better half with me and my work family.
Jeff and Linda finally both retired from their jobs at the City of Austin and moved from the ATX to a more affordable home in Alabama. They hoped to live out their lives in adventure and travel. But sometimes, life throws an unexpected blow, like cancer. Jeff was recently diagnosed with cancer. Before the source of his cancer was identified, the cancer had already moved to the lymph system. To receive the best care, they had to temporarily relocate to Houston, Texas for treatment at MD Anderson. There they found a cancerous tumor in the back of his tongue. His current treatment plan is 7 weeks of radiation with chemotherapy. This means extending their unexpected stay in Houston, Texas. As you can imagine, this has been such a huge expense for my friends.
Linda and Jeff could use some words of encouragement and prayers, but I know they could use a helping hand with their temporary relocation expenses. Any amount is helpful and can make a difference. And if you could also share with your friends and family, it would mean so much.
Thank you.
