Support Jeffrey’s Recovery After Assault

On October 15, 2025, my life was derailed by a physical assault that took place directly at my job site. As a result of the incident, I suffered severe facial trauma, specifically multiple fractures to my left orbital socket (the bone surrounding the eye) which required emergency ER treatment and ongoing specialist care.

Before this happened, I had built a stable, self-sufficient life. I have managed my health and my finances responsibly for over a decade. But for the last three months, I have been medically unable to work due to the severity of the injury and the recovery process. While I have done everything "right"—applied for Workers' Compensation, and sought victim assistance—the administrative systems are incredibly slow. It has been nearly 90 days, and I have not received a single dollar in lost wages or support due to bureaucratic processing delays and pending appeals.

I have now exhausted my emergency savings and credit reserves just trying to survive without income since October. While I am currently safe staying with family, I have reached the point of total financial depletion. I am not asking for charity lightly. I am asking for a bridge. I am currently navigating the appeals process to get the benefits I am legally owed, but that timeline is out of my control. These funds will strictly be used for essential daily living expenses (food, basic bills) while I wait for the legal system to catch up, prescriptions and medical co-pays not fully covered during this lapse, and keeping my remaining accounts with at least my credit union in good standing so I don't lose the credit history I worked hard to build.

To be honest, my goal isn't anything extravagant—it is simply to reclaim the independence I had before October 15th. If I receive this support, the immediate impact will be the ability to stop living in 'crisis mode.' It means I can focus entirely on healing my injury and navigating the legal appeals without the constant, crushing stress of financial ruin. The milestone I am looking forward to is the moment I can secure a new, safe job, and go back to being the self-sufficient person I have been for the last ten years. I want to close the book on being a 'victim' of this system and get back to just being Jeffrey.

Medical Summary:
CT scans from 10/15/2025 confirmed multiple acute facial bone fractures, including the left inferior and medial orbital walls, and fractures of the maxillary sinuses. There is also left periorbital soft tissue swelling and emphysema. No acute intracranial findings were noted. Full medical documentation is available upon request for anyone who would like to review it.
