Hello, my name is Jeffrey. In July of last year, during a routine wellness check, I received news that changed my life: cancer cells were found in my urine. This discovery led to a whirlwind of appointments, biopsies, and ultimately, three separate cancer diagnoses—cancer in my ureter, prostate cancer, and colon cancer. My medical team quickly put together a plan, and in August, I underwent a ten-hour surgery to remove the tumor from my ureter, a section of my colon, and my prostate. Recovery has been tough, and after five days in the hospital, I began months of chemotherapy. Just as I was nearing the end of my first round, I learned I would need six more months of chemo for the colorectal cancer, along with another surgery to reinstall a stent in my ureter.

Throughout this journey, I have not been able to work. I want nothing more than to return to my job, but the treatments and surgeries have left me too weak, and I’m unsure how I’ll feel after my next procedure in March. The financial burden has been overwhelming—my medical bills and living expenses continue to climb with each treatment. I never imagined I would be in this position, but I find myself needing to ask for help.
