Jeffrey Wilkinson is a loving father of 3 and has 2 grandchildren. He loves music, being with family, and collecting guitars. Unfortunately, he has had several years of health issues and heart problems. It all came to a head on January 31st, 2025. He coded and went into cardiac arrest. After that, he was intubated in the ICU for a week and then sent to a post-acute care hospital where he was supposed to undergo physical therapy in order to regain his strength.
After 4 months at this new hospital, he was intubated twice more. His CO2 retention was too high for a nasal cannula or even a BiPAP machine to bring down. The CO2 retention brought on confusion, hallucinations, and made him very lethargic so when we would visit him, he had a hard time staying awake, let alone being able to do any more physical therapy. In his time at that hospital, he underwent a tracheotomy in order to stabilize. After a month with the trach, the hospital removed it. He was then sent to a skilled nursing facility and after only 10 days there, had to be re-hospitalized and intubated 3 more times after that. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS). He has been bedridden for 7 months now and lost over 120 pounds. He is now back at the skilled nursing facility and has been making progress these past couple weeks. We are hoping everything is up from here.
We are taking everything one day at a time. This has been so incredibly hard emotionally, mentally, and financially on us. As you can imagine, all of this is very expensive and since Jeffrey cannot work, he has no active income. We are seeking financial help from our community and hope that if you are willing, you could donate to help our father. The funds raised will be put towards Jeffrey’s financial needs, medical bills, medicine, possible surgeries, living expenses, etc. anything that can help alleviate this situation. We appreciate each and every one of you. Please consider sharing this campaign with anyone you may know that could help spread the word. We would be so grateful. Thank you for your support and generosity.
Jeffrey’s family: Nadine, Sara, Daniel, and Estrella.
