Tuesday at 2am my dad Jeffrey Ewing went by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. We learned that he was dangerously ill and in need of immediate medical care. He was admitted to the critical care unit with sepsis and we found out he had a heart attack. His blood pressure was unstable and his kidneys were failing. He spent a few days in the critical care unit and has since been transferred to another floor. Unfortunately his health isn’t improving as much as we would like. He has a bad infection that started in his toe and has since moved up into his leg. He has recently had his big toe removed; and the doctors are thinking they might have to amputate more of his foot and potentially his leg.

He has to have a heart procedure as well. The doctors have to get the infection under control before they can perform the heart procedure. I’m asking for help for my family. This has been a very hard and trying time.  My mom, dad, and younger siblings don’t have the funds for upcoming medical bills, food while doing hospital stays, all the time my dad will have to have off work to recover, and resources to help prep the house for (hopefully) a smooth transition when my dad gets home. This is going to be a long and difficult journey, and i want to ease the burden for my mom, dad, and siblings however i can. I appreciate any help we can get during these trying times.
