UPDATE!!!
Jeff's chemo & stem cell transplant went well. We are now home at our apartment in Seattle. He is on the road to recovering. We have to go to Fred Hutch everyday so they can closely monitor him.
My husband, Jeff Vermillion, was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma in Nov. 2024. Jeff has been a Local 86 Ironworker for 12 years. If you know Jeff, you know he is a hard worker and would do anything to help his brother Ironworkers, or friends, and not think twice about asking anything in return.
We will be embarking on the next leg of our journey to regain his health, which is a stem cell transplant at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle. On this journey, we will be required to leave our home in Puyallup for 30-40 days, leaving behind our daughter and 2-year-old child. I will be leaving my job at Safeway to be his full-time caregiver. Jeff has been unemployed since April and must be off for up to 6 more months. This will be a great financial burden upon our family. The doctor is optimistic that Jeff should be able to return to work after 6 months.
With any donations, we plan on paying our household expenses at home, all the daily living expenses in Seattle, transportation expenses to and from medical appointments, food, medical supplies, housing, and any unforeseen medical expenses not covered by insurance.
We would greatly appreciate any donation to our cause. Or for anyone to share this for us.
Thank you again.
