Support Jeff Finnegan's Recovery from Brain Cancer

Join us as we come together to support our dear friend, Jeff Finnegan (known by most as “Finner”), who is courageously battling his recent cancer diagnosis.
In March 2025, Jeff life took an unexpected and devastating turn. After spending most of 2024 battling what was believed to be a pituitary autoimmune disorder, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of brain cancer called CNS Germinoma, a disease that affects less than one percent of people in North America. The diagnosis came after doctors discovered two aggressive tumors in his brain: one in the pituitary gland and one in the pineal region. Given the urgency and severity of the situation, he was admitted to the hospital and began chemotherapy the same day he received the diagnosis.
Between March 31st and June 6th, 2025, Jeff underwent four intensive cycles of chemotherapy. Thankfully, the treatment worked, and a post-treatment MRI revealed that both tumors had shrunk significantly, with no signs of new growth. Despite this encouraging outcome, part of the standard treatment protocol for CNS Germinoma involves follow-up radiation therapy to prevent recurrence. This next phase of treatment is critical for long-term remission.
Due to the delicate locations of the tumors, doctors warned that conventional radiation could lead to long-term complications. He was instead approved for a highly specialized and precise form of radiation called Proton Beam Therapy, administered at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Jeff is currently in Philadelphia receiving 20 rounds of radiation over the course of four weeks, all while navigating the intense physical and emotional toll of recovering from brain cancer. He is expected to return home to Prince Edward County on August 16th, where he will begin the next chapter in his recovery. That chapter includes close monitoring of his pituitary and pineal gland function, with hopes of avoiding permanent damage to these vital parts of the brain that regulate hormonal and neurological health.
Proceeds from this GoFundMe will help ease the financial strain of Jeff’s continued recovery, travel and accommodation expenses while receiving treatment at UPenn, ongoing medical costs, and the rebuilding of his life and career in the aftermath of this life-altering experience.
Jeff has met this journey with extraordinary resilience, grace, and hope. Now, we’re rallying around him to ensure he doesn’t have to face what’s next alone. If you know Jeff, you know he’s someone who would drop everything to help a friend in need. Now it’s our turn to show him that he’s not alone in this fight.
If you’re able, please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Every contribution, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. We also ask that you please share this campaign with your network. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
Let’s rally together and show Jeff he’s not alone in this fight! ❤️
