- My brother, Jeff Bautch, is currently very ill and on a ventilator at St. Cloud Hospital. On Oct 7th, he went to the ED, and that night he was taken to the OR where they found a bowel obstruction and adhesions from a previous surgery. He became septic and continued to worsen. They determined his bowel was leaking and took him back to surgery. They were unable to close him up and left him with an open wound and sedated on the vent. On Oct 27th, he had his fourth surgery in 6 days. It has been a roller coaster of thinking he’s improving but then backsliding. He is not out of the woods. Today, the doctors told us if everything were to start going perfectly, he will still need to be hospitalized 3 more weeks (a total of 6), and the rehab will be months. He may need a rehab facility. That is the best-case scenario. Jeff will not be able to work to support his family for a long time. Jeff and Jackie have 3 kids that are active in school activities and sports. Jackie will have her hands full with her full-time teaching job and running with the kids, not to mention supporting Jeff’s recovery. Financially, the burden will be immense. His bills will be astronomical. If you can consider helping Jeff’s family, it is greatly appreciated.
