Help My Mom Recover From Pneumonia Without Financial Stress

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask for your support. My mom, Jean, has been hospitalized with COVID and severe pneumonia for over a week now. She is going for a surgical procedure this afternoon to reduce the fluid buildup in her right lung and will most likely not return to work until the end of next week or later.

It’s been a tough time emotionally and physically for her, and to make things even harder, she’s currently not getting paid while she's out of work. She used her sick/vacation time earlier this year when she had Legionnaires' pneumonia and shingles.

My mom is the kind of person who always puts others before herself, and now she needs help. The bills are starting to pile up—both medical and everyday living expenses—and we’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone. I've been going back and forth from the hospital and have been using my PTO hours as needed.
