Over the past week my family has experienced an insane, out of no where medical emergency that will put my husband and I out of work for several weeks. Tuesday my husband Jean woke up from his wisdom teeth removal surgery, we start making our drive home and he is experiencing excruciating pain in his left side of his stomach. The pain worsened throughout our drive home and by the time we hit Oshkosh he is screaming & throwing up from the pain so I rush him to the emergency room. After a ton of tests and an appointment with a urologist we find out he has a blockage in his kidney that may have been there since birth. His left kidney is 4x the size it should be because it won’t drain fluid due to the blockage.
Our next steps after further appointments is now he has a surgery to get a tube put into his back to help drain the kidney. After that he will need ANOTHER surgery to either repair his kidney, have it removed, or possible kidney transplant.
We are looking for help in any way, we were prepared for a 5 days off of work wisdom teeth removal and now all of a sudden our lives are being flipped upside down! Which ever surgery Jean needs will put him and I both out of work for 3-6 weeks (if not more) as we do not have child care for our children & they are homeschooled.
As most of you know Jean is the most amazing, supportive, uplifting husband, father, uncle and friend. He does everything he can for his family and people around him and is genuine one of the healthiest people I know. The last thing I want him to have to worry about during all of this is bills/medical bills/supporting his family.
If you decide to help our family in any way, I’m eternally grateful, and owe you a loaf a bread when this is all over!
