Jean Mackey Schwartz was a beloved mother, grandmother, and a familiar face to many in the Phoenixville community. Less than a month ago, Jean was diagnosed with cancer. Her illness progressed rapidly, and she passed away while still trying to enter hospice care.

Throughout her life, Jean worked tirelessly to raise her three children on her own. In her retirement, she devoted herself to helping raise her granddaughter, always putting her family first. Despite her hard work and dedication, Jean was never able to save enough to plan for her own future.

Now, her family is facing unexpected expenses and uncertainty. They are trying to pay for Jean’s final arrangements, catch up on the rent for her home, where her daughter and granddaughter lived with her, and start a fund to help her granddaughter finish high school and pursue her dreams of going to college.

Jean touched so many lives during her years as a waitress at the legendary Vale-Rio Diner in Phoenixville. She was a devout Christian who cared deeply about others, always offering a kind word or a helping hand to those in need.
